Meet Your Concussion Specialist
Joe Burkeland, Droctor of Physical Therapy
Hi, I’m Joe Burkeland, and I know first-hand how frustrating it can be to suffer from a concussion and not receive the proper care needed for recovery. After experiencing multiple concussions without receiving the right rehabilitation, I made it my mission to discover a better, more effective way to help people heal.
With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin, I’ve spent the past decade diving into the complexities of the brain and body to become a trusted concussion care expert. I’ve had the privilege of working in a vestibular specialty clinic in Austin, Texas, and leading a concussion clinic in Fort Collins, Colorado for over three years. Through these experiences, I’ve had the honor of guiding hundreds of individuals on their journey to recovery from brain injuries.
My expertise includes treating both acute injuries (2 days to 6 weeks post-injury) and persisting symptoms (6 weeks or more after injury). I am passionate about providing the right tools, strategies, and therapies to not just recover, but to thrive after a concussion.
I live in Fort Collins, Colorado with my amazing wife (we just got married last year!) and our two lovable goldendoodles, Kenai and August. When I’m not helping people recover, you’ll likely find me traveling, hiking, enjoying live music, exercising (I’m also a CrossFit coach!), or camping with my family.
If you or a loved one is struggling with concussion symptoms, I’m here to help guide you back to feeling your best.
Let’s get started on the path to recovery, together!
