Why Concussion Makes Returning to Exercise So Hard

The good news first: you can train to improve this and get this back to normal! 💪

In our Return to Exercise after Concussion programs, we use 4 science-backed tests to set your baseline: 2 passive tests to determine your physiology at rest and 2 active tests to determine how your physiology works under physical stress. Without these, we don’t have a roadmap to recovery! We use your test results to guide your training day by day.

Getting back to exercise after a concussion is FREAKING HARD because:
❤️ Your heart rate variability (HRV) decreases
❤️ You may have a heart rate threshold (HRT) which means if you exert yourself beyond that, your symptoms increase
❤️ Your blood pressure variability (BPV) decreases
❤️ Your blood pressure sensitivity changes
🧠 Oh, and by the way, you may have cervical, visual or vestibular issues that are contributing as well!

Your brain is injured. Your brain controls your physiology. Exercise alters your physiology. Your brain cannot manage those controls appropriately or accurately, especially under physical stress. But it can learn and adapt if you give it the appropriate training!

This gets messy real quick! Let me help you navigate this and get you moving again! Find more details here and join the program here.
