Concussion Can Change Your Senses!

As if concussion recovery isn’t already hard enough - with the headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, nausea and all of the emotions?!

Studies show that it’s surprisingly common to injure your cranial nerves during a concussion! Some of these - like cranial nerves 1, 2, 8 and 9 - are the primary nerves that are responsible for your senses: smell, sight, hearing (and balance), and taste.

Concussion can be a life-changing event in so many ways! Depending on how severe the concussion is, these senses can be lost, dampened, or changed. Know that this is common and will likely return to normal, but it may take a long time (up to a year).
